Towards the end of the nineteenth century, India lay in a socio-political ferment. This led Maharishi Dayanand to form the Arya Samaj for the revival of the Indian Society intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.
DAV Movement Emerges
To realize the Maharishi's dream, a group of enlightened, dedicated, and devoted followers, with a deep sense of self denial, founded the Dayanand anglo-Vedic College Trust and Management Society which was registered in 1886. The Society founded its first D.A.V School at Lahore in 1886 with Lala Hans Raj (later know as Mahatama Hans Raj ji).
A Resurgence
In 1997 the DAV College Trust and Management Society brought in a responsive and accountable leadership as office bearers of the society in the persons of DAV veterans like Shri T.R.Tuli, (Ex- Chairman, of Punjab National Bank) as Vice President, Shri M.L.Khanna, (a senior advocate) as General Secretary, Shri S.L. Suri(Industrailist) as Secretary, and Principal P.N.Kaul as Treasurer, to spearhead the DAV Movement.
